Hello Everyone, and welcome to week 41 of the colour creations block hop. We are almost at the end now, and it's been a great ride. This week our colour is Sahara Sand and as the name implies it's a light sandy colour. Sahara Sand is one of the Neutrals Colour range and you can find Card Stock, Ink Pad & Refills in this colour along with the DSP colour range. I did find it a little hard to design a card using this colour as it's not one of the colours that I reach for.
But here it is. I started with a card base using Sahara Sand and then added a layer in Early Espresso. The DSP that I used comes from the Tidings of Christmas range found in the Annual Catalogue. Even thought it's classed as a Christmas paper it doesn't have a Christmas theme to this DSP. I then used the layering dies from the Hippo Happiness bundle to the next 2 layers one in Early Espresso and the other using the DSP again. I then cut out the butterfly from the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. First the solid butterfly and then the filigree one. again in Early Espresso and Sahara Sand. I then curved the wings on both and added dimensional between the layers and then back of the butterflies.
Before attaching them to the front of the card. I stamped my Happy Birthday directly onto the DSP, using the Stamparatus so the I could stamp it several times. I finished off the front of the card with the Iridescent Rhinestones.
As always my insert is very plain. I layers Early Espresso and Basic white together and just stamped a short and sweet message on the inside along with one of the butterflies from the same bundle. A pretty and elegant card, but unsure who will be getting this one yet. All the items used in this project can be found in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. Wow, Dianne, looking at your incredible card I never would have guessed you struggled with this colour! The Tidings DSP looks fantastic on this card!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Diane, great use of the Tidings of Christmas DSP, it looks amazing with the die cut butterfly
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Diane with the label supporting a lovely butterfly.
ReplyDeleteHere I was, wondering where that gorgeous DSP is from ... I had forgotten about it! What a beautiful backdrop it provides to the lovely butterfly on your card, Di. Nicely done, showcasing this neutral.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous feature butterfly on those fancy labels. I hadn't even noticed this pattern in the Christmas DSP, good choice!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful card Di. By using just two main colours, the detail on the butterfly and embellishments really stands out.
