Week 9 - Basic Gray Colour Creations Blog-Hop 2024-25

Hello and welcome to week 9 of the Colour Creations Blog-Hop. This week our feature colour is Basic Gray. Not a colour I tend to use very much, but I dad find it easy to use for this weeks project.

This card is called a Double Fronted Cascade card and I think that Basic Gray suits this card very well. I started with a Basic Gray card base and added a smoky slate layer. I then used the DSP from the Country Woods collection. As I love this bundle I also used the Country Flowers Bundle. I used a Basic White layer for the inside of my card.

I stamped the Teapot and flowers on the inside of the card and added my message. But I also stamped the same image again and added this to the next layer. I finished off all the layers with some of the pretty flowers and leaves from the dies. I added a Sentiment to the front of the card and used the Happy Labels punch. Finishing off the flowers with the Incolour Shimmer Gems in the centres. I like this card it's simple to make yet looks so effective. If you would like to know more about this project of the Items used please feel free to contact me. All the items used can be found in the 2024-25 Annual Catalogue.

Week 46 of the Colour creations Blog-Hop 2023-24 - Smoky Slate

Hello and welcome to week 46 of the colour creations Blog-Hop. This week our feature colour is Smoky Slate. I did wonder what I could do for this colour, as it's not a colour I use very often. But I think I made it work. I use the lovely Latte Love Suit. This is an online exclusive set and I am loving it I have made a few cards using it already.

This time I started with a Lemon Lolly card base and added the Smoky Slate as my layer. I love this DSP that to me looks like an old fashion table cloth pattern. I then stamped the mugs and spoons before colouring them using Smoky Slate blends. I filled my mugs with a nice medium blend of coffe using Pecan Pie ink. I stamped the steam in Basic Gray and cut them out by hand. gluing them to the cups. I mounted the cups spoons and sentiment using dimensionals finishing off with just one of the swirl dots.

I wanted to add a little more interest to the inside of the card than I usually do so some coffee stains and a cup, again colouring with blends. I think the Lemon Lolly really brings out the Smoky Slate and they go together really well. I can see me using this set a real lot. If you would like to know more about this online exclusive product or any other online exclusive product please feel free to contact me.

Week 46 Colour Creations Blog-Hop - Smoky Slate

Hello and welcome to week 46 of the colour creations blog-hop. we are featuring Smoky Slate this week. Although this is a lovely Neutral Colour, part of the Neutrals Collection I still have trouble using it. I teamed Smoky Slate with Basic Gray for my card this week and was happy with the results.

So I started with a Basic Gray card base added the Smoky Slate layer. Then added the 2 triangles in Basic Gray topped with the beautiful Abigail Rose DSP which is in Smoky Slate. I then stamped the 2 flower in the same DSP and cut them out with the dies from the Cottage Rose Bundle. I added a little extra colour by cutting out the leaves in Garden Green. I stamped the Happy Birthday from the same set on the slant and finished off the front with the Iridescent Rhinestone.

Placing the rhinestones either side of the sentiment and then a few more on the DSP.  I mirrored the layering on the inside of the card, and keeping is simple I stamped the message using Smoky Slate Ink.

All the items used in this week project can be found in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. If you would like the know more about these product of the project please feel free to contact me either by Email, PM or phone.

Week 43 Colour Creations Blog-Hop - Smoky Slate

Hi Everyone, Welcome to week 42 of the Colour Creations Blog-Hop. We are featuring Smoky Slate this week. This colour is part of the Neutrals Collection and a lovely pale gray colour. I decided I would team it up with Basic Gray, also from the same collection but it's a darker gray.

So I started with a Smoky Slate card base and added a Basic Gray layer I then added a DSP Layer from the Symbols of Fortune paper pack. Using the Soaring Swallows Bundle I stamped the 2 birds using Memento ink onto Smoky Slate card. I then used the Basic Gray to colour the wings. I cut out the birds using the dies. Mounting the birds onto the front of the card using dimensionals along with the sentiment tag. I finished off the front with Basic Rhinestones.

Very subtle in colours but I think it really brings out the birds nicely.
As always I kept the inside of my card plain, by just added a Basic Gray and Basic White layer of card. Stamping once again in Memento ink, I stamped my sentiment and another swallow.
All the items used in this project can be found in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and then Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalogue. If you would like to know more about these product of would like to purchase them please feel free to contact me via email, PM or Phone.

Week 47 - Smoky Slate - Colour Creations Showcase

Hello and welcome to week 47 of the colour creations showcase. We have almost come to the end of our colours except the New INCOLORS they are really beautiful and I look forward to give them a bit of a workout as well. But Today we are using Smoky Slate it's Gray and to me it's a colour for a male card but I decided I would give it a go as a feminine card instead.

I wanted to use the Forever Fern again as I really love this bundle so I used only 3 colours Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and White and this is my creation for today. I started with the White card base and stamped in Smoky Slate I only used the Basic Gray to highlight around the white card. I also rounded all the corners for a change. I added a Basic Gray bow to finish off the front of the card. Not one of my favourite cards but I really was finding it hard to work with.

My insert I kept very plain as well, I also rounded the corners and stamped with Smoky Slate. I'm please to announce that the Forever Fern Stamp set and dies are carrying over into the new 2021-2022 Annual catalogue (not as a bundle) so we will still be again to make plenty more beautiful projects with this very versatile set. If you would like to purchase any or all of the product used in this project please give me a call, email or PM so that I might help you with your purchase. Week 20 Colour Creations Showcase - Gray Granite

 Week 20 - Gray Granite

Hello Everyone and Welcome to week 20 of the Art With Heart Team Australia Colour Creations Showcase. This week our colour is Gray Granite, this colour is part of the Neutrals Collections and I think as grays go this is a lovely shade.

I have chosen the Prized Peony Stamp Set for this weeks project along with the Peony Garden DSP. My other colours for this card are Basic Gray, Whisper White, and Smoky Slate. I decided I would give the Stamping Block Technique a try and I was really pleased with the way it turned out.
I layered Basic Gray onto a Gray Granite card base and then added the DSP layer and another strip of Basic gray. I then layered the 2 gray squares and stamped using my (D) Block with smoky slate I stamped off first and then onto the whisper white card. I then stamped the peony flower 3 times using Gray Granite. I mounted this to the front of the card and added my sentiment at the bottom stamped once again in Gray Granite. I finished off the front of the card with 3 Metallic pearls.

I kept the inside of the card very simple as the word on the front can be used for many different occasions. So I only layered the Basic Gray and Whisper White before stamping the smallest Peony flower in Gray Granite. Personally I think this card is so Elegant but I'm a bit biased.
All the items used in this project can be found in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue, if you would like to purchase any of all of the products used in this project please give me a Call, Email or PM so that I might help you with your purchase.

Colour Creations - Smoky Slate

http://whatcathymade.com.au/?p=3701

Hello Everyone, how are we all doing this week?
We have a lovely colour for everyone this week called Smoky Slate, what a lovely warm gray colour this is. I have chosen to make a male card this week as I think this Colour and the stamp set I have chosen go together well.

I started off this a Smoky Slate card base and added a Coastal Cabana square topped with whisper White. I used my Stamparatus  to stamp my hats and fish hooks from the Best Catch Bundle and coloured them in using the marker pens. I stamped them and the Fish and Baskets using the Smoky Slate ink I then cut out the Fish and Baskets before mounting them onto the front of the card. I also stamped the card base using the crackle paint stamp and Smoky Slate ink. I do love the effect from this stamp. I sponged the front and the insert of the card with Smoky Slate ink to give the look of being a bit dirty.  I also cutout some of the small fishes using the dies.

I stamped the Fisherman and sentiment and then grouped the cutout fish together and mounted this onto another Coastal Cabana layer before gluing to the inside of the card. I'm so glad that this set is carrying over from the Occasions Catalogue as I really love making men's cards.
All the items used in the project can be found in the 2018-2019 and the 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue or the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. if you would like to purchase any or all of the items used in this project please give me a call, email or PM so that I can help you with your purchase.

Colour Creations - Petal Pink

http://whatcathymade.com.au/?p=3367

Hi Everyone, Here we are with Petal Pink this week. I wouldn't say it's one of my favourite colours as I like a nice bright Pink myself, but it's very pretty and I love it in the card that I have made this week.

I have used Smoky Slate along with the petal pink for this card and used the DSP from the Share What you Love pack. I also used the Dear Doily Bundle and the Humming Along Stamp set for this project.
I started with a Whisper White Card Base and add my layers as I went along stamping in Petal Pink and Memento ink I cut the wreath doily from the thinlets and glued this to the front of the card, I know it is quite a simple card and muted colours but I love it.

I shaped the sentiment tag to give it some dimension as I thought it looked a little flat and boring laying down. So using my bone folder to break the fibers and then place foam pad on the back to lift it up just that little bit more. I then added the gold faceted gems to finish it off.

I added 2 layer to the inside of my card to add extra interest and stamped the doilies randomly.
All the items used in this project can be found in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue and the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. If you would like to purchase any or all of these products please give me a Call, Email or PM so that I can help you.
