Week 44 Sahara Sand - Colour Creations Showcase

Hello Everyone and welcome to week 44 of the Colour Creations Showcase. We are now back to the S's after a jump last week to get in the retiring colour. We have Sahara Sand. Not sure about this colour and I don't use it very much, I even had to re-ink my pad as it had gone dry. So this week I was challenged, but happy with my card.

I started with a white card base and added the Sahara Sand layer that I embossed using the Subtle Folder (I'm Sorry to see this folder retiring 😢) I then added a white layer over the top that I cut out a partial circle and stamped around the edge of using the Forever Fern Stamp Set and Sahara Sand and Soft Suede ink. I then used my blending brush to take the white edge off of the inside of the circle with Soft Suede ink pad. I mounted this onto the front of the card using dimensionals. To finish off the front I cut 3 small strips in Early Espresso, Crumb Card and White flagged one ends of 2 of them and stamped on the white one. I then layered them together adding dimensionals to the back and mounting them inside the circle. I added 3 Champagne gems and a piece of ribbon. I thought this card looked very elegant.

I kept the inside very plain with no words.

But I did add the layers and stamp the ferns using the Sahara Sand. 1. You have made Sahara Sand look very beautiful, Di ... even after your hesitation to use it! Great choice of stamps, for your elegant design. I love the thin strips of card across the front, and the addition of Champagne Rhinestones - they're a good tone to go with Sahara Sand.

  2. ooooh, I love this card! It's gorgeous and I will be CASEing for sure!

  3. Just lovely Diane. Great design and layout.

  4. What a lovely design and layout Di - the gems look very elegant and with the strips of card stock and the bow they really finish off your card beautifully!

  5. A great design, Di. That circle really draws the eyes in and I love how you stamped the images around it and the soft sponging.

  7. Your card is stunning and I love the stamping around the circle.

  8. Wat een prachtige kaart heeft u gemaakt met deze mooie stempelset. Wilde hem ook erg graag maken maar helaas staan de maten er niet bij en vanwege de taal is het dan lastig te horen welke maat het is.
