Week 15 - Early Espresso
Hi Everyone, and welcome to week 15 of the Colour Creations Showcase. This week our colour is Early Espresso a beautiful rich Brown colour and part of the Neutral Collection. I have chosen to make a Slim line card as it's been a few years since I last made one.
I thought I would like to make a patchwork card so using The Right Triangle bundle I stamped the 3 designs in the same size 22 times in all and cut them out using the matching dies. I then arranged them on to a white piece of card and when happy with where I had put them glued them all down and cut off any excess around the edges. I layered this onto a Early Espresso piece of Card and then onto a Whisper White Card Base. I then cut out a scalloped circle and a stitched circle that I layered together and using the Nothing's Better Than Bundle stamped the the coffee cups and the words and then die cut out the other word COFFEE and the cups I place these onto dimensionals and attached to the front of the card.
For the insert of the card I layered an Early Espresso and Whisper White layer together I glued the last triangle to the top corner and stamped in Early Espresso. I was really happy with how the card turned out and I love the patchwork on the front.

Wow Di. that is a lot of stamping and die cutting but definitely worth the effort for the final result. Your card has such a lovely old fashioned feel - as a quilter I love it! Thank you for joining the Colour Creations showcase with your beautiful Early Espresso card xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of runs through your die cutting machine, Di! Well worth the effort, though - your card is fabulous! Love the patchwork effect of the background, and the way you've showcased Early Espresso.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a gorgeous card, Di. I really love all those stamped triangles. My patchwork has taken a back seat since I started paper crafting, but your card has taken me on a walk down memory lane. I love your use of Early Espresso here - just beautiful!
